It is undeniable that Sedona is one of the most beautiful cities in the country. The stunning red sandstone landscape provides a popular backdrop for spending time within and enjoying nature. It is home to hundreds of trails for hiking, biking and off road vehicles.
While being in nature can be a healing experience in and of itself, Sedona is well known for being a city that is considered an energy vortex.
First off, what is an energy vortex?
It is an area where energy is concentrated at a specific point, and is either entering into the earth or projecting out of the earth’s plane. Moving in an up and downward motion or even a spiral.
Some other areas that you might be familiar with that are said to be energy vortexes are the Great Pyramid in Egypt, Machu Picchu in Peru, Bali and the Stonehenge.
Sedona is interesting because some people feel drawn to this area of Arizona, for reasons other than its breathtaking views. The landscape in this area is believed to hold a certain energy that is supposed to be conducive to self-healing, meditation and self-exploration. The energy in these vortexes are places where the earth seems particularly alive with energy.
While the entire city of Sedona is known to be an energy vortex, there are four spots in particular where the energy is found to be the most intense. This is at the Airport Mesa, Cathedral Rock, Bell Rock and Boynton Canyon. Each of these locations are known for radiating their own particular energy.
This vortex healing is a type of energy healing that is based on the idea that everything within the universe is made of up its own energy and learning to utilize and manipulate that energy can promote self-healing.
Outside of trying to feel the energy that is within this area, there are certain features within nature that can be indicative of the energy produced from these vortexes. Jumping back to a mention of the direction in which the energy can flow, paying particular notice to the swirling pattern.
Now, I can’t say that I have felt any particular energy shift within my own body while visiting Sedona, but I haven’t written off this energy completely.
It is pretty hard to deny the pull of energy when looking at the trees within this landscape. If you are ever in the area, pay special attention to the trees growing within some of these high-energy sites. I first noticed while hiking in Boynton Canyon to the Subway Cave that there were trees growing that were unlike anything I had ever seen before.
The actual trunks of some of the trees appeared to be twisted or swirling.
I know you are probably thinking I have had one too many drinks with the locals, but the proof is in the pudding if you ask me. The locals believe it to be caused by the powerful vortex energy at the core of Sedona itself, while others say they just grow that way. I will let you be the judge on that.
Either way, it is a pretty interesting naturally occurring phenomenon.
